Design consultancies, engineering firms and manufacturers are being sought to create the Olympic and Paralympic Torches for London 2012. Product and industrial design, engineering and manufacturing talent are invited by The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), in partnership with the Design Council, to register their interest in developing these key items of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As part of the EDF Energy new nuclear build projects at sites in Somerset and Suffolk, local registration portals have been launched at the local business opportunities events held in Suffolk and Somerset on the 6th and 8th July 2010.

MANDELSON VISITS MAS-ASSISTED BUSINESS AS PART OF ADVANCED MANUFACTURING PACKAGE LAUNCH
Following an email sent to MAS East customers on Monday 20th April regarding an event, a corrupt server has led to this email being repeatedly sent. The issue was resolved at the end of last week (Friday 24th April), however another server has corrupted the file and started sending the original email multiple times once more.
A new service being offered in the region forms a key part of an integrated and simplified business support package developed by EEDA. It combines MAS East, Innovation and Guidance (IAG) and a Design for Demand service which will start later this year.
Where to find help for your business when you need it
Every business will own some form of intellectual property. It could be the artistic design, shape, technology or brand of your product or process, but do you know how to protect and exploit these intellectual assets?
The IP Healthcheck online tool is provided by the Intellectual Property Office and is free to use. It’s broken down into the four IP elements covering Patents, Trade Marks, Designs and Copyright and each one should take you no more than 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
